Sunrise Mountain
The morning was cold and unwelcoming, but as the star gazers went to bed we arrived determined to catch the sunrise through our lenses. Preparation is a key element to planning excellent photography that we certainly lacked this time. With minutes until the first rays of light peeked into the valley, we scouted out prime positions. Josh skillfully climbed onto the roof of the pavilion and claimed it as his own while Stephen dragged his tripod around the rocky opening. The clouds rolled low and the fading moon hung high still. From this perfect spot on the mountains, the boys patiently pressed their buttons, shared filters, and wished for better lenses. The air was frigid and two jackets were shared among three people, but in the name of photography we all suffered together.
